North Tyneside Business Forum was overwhelmed by the response from members when a call for businesses from particular sectors to join the management group was issued.
North Tyneside Business Forum is a free membership scheme for any business with a trading address in North Tyneside, which has recently entered its eighth year and is the lead business support organisation in North Tyneside encouraging economic growth, employment, sustainability and corporate responsibility.
David W Bavaird, Chair is pleased to announce the appointment of For the Love of the North, Wubbleyou Limited and the 2017 Business of the Year GasTech Ltd to the management group.
For the Love of the North, gift shop specialising in all things North East and based in Whitley Bay were nominated by an advisor at The Business Factory as a business which turned “adversity into opportunity” when taking redundancy. They showed how as one door opens another closes.
Paul Hull, joint owner at For the Love of the North said: “We are delighted to have been nominated to be a member of the Forum management group. My wife Lucy and I both know the importance of hitting on the right offer and know who our customers are and how to reach them. To be able to help with the strategic direction of the Forum and influence the decisions based on how a start-up business operates and would like support with, is a real opportunity to help start-up businesses in North Tyneside.’’
Also joining the group is Wubbleyou Limited. The web software development company based in North Shields impressed the panel with their commitment to supporting local businesses and they bring a range of skills including expertise within the IT sector, digital technology and use of social media.
Mike Peeke-Vout, Director at North Shields-based Wubbleyou Limited said: “Myself and my business partner Mark Renney have been regulars at Business Forum events since our inception in 2010 and we’re very pleased to join the group. When we saw the vacancy posts on social media we had to submit our expression of interest. Working with like-minded businesses in the area is something we are passionate about and being able to bring a new range of skills to the organisation is great.”
Finally, 2017 Business of the Year GasTech Ltd will be joining the management group to take the total number of businesses represented to thirteen with a range of businesses of different sizes and with representatives from many different sectors. The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems specialists picked up the Business of the Year Award at the recent North Tyneside Business Awards ceremony.
Craig Firth, Director at GasTech Ltd said: “To be able to share our experiences in business and influence the strategic direction of the Forum in 2018/19 is an honour. To win the Business of the Year award was over whelming and we hope to be able to bring knowledge of business growth, the industry and training new and existing staff to the group.”
