Spotlight on Success: Bright and Beautiful

IT’S A CLEAN SWEEP FOR BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL

Based on Benton Square Industrial Estate in Palmersville, Bright and Beautiful is a domestic cleaning service with big plans for the future.

Run by franchisee Helen Ross, Bright and Beautiful employs a nine-strong team and was delighted to win the 2018 New Business Award at the North Tyneside Business Awards.

Tell us a little more about Bright and Beautiful

We started trading back in October 2017 and our first full year of trading has been amazing. We currently employ nine people but as the business grows we’ll continue to grow our team to keep up with the demand for our service.

We cover the North Tyneside area and pride ourselves on providing eco-friendly cleaning, tidying, laundry and ironing services for busy professionals, to the highest standards of security and service.

How did you come to be apply for the New Business Award?

I believe the main reason we applied and were successful is down to the ethical nature of our business. The cleaning industry is notorious for treating its staff poorly and we have shown that we are able to deliver a high-quality service and be profitable, all in an ethical way. We employ all our staff with contracts of employment and we look after them. We are great believers that if we look after our staff they look after our clients. My staff genuinely love their jobs and want my business to succeed so they’re fully invested in our on-going journey.

What does winning the Award mean to your business?

We are really proud to win this award. We’ve achieved so much in our first year of business and to have that recognised with an award is amazing. Not only does it highlight the quality service we are providing but it’s also lovely for my staff to be recognised for the great job they are doing, day in, day out.

What are you plans for the business?

Our plans are to continue to provide a high-quality professional cleaning service to domestic customers, while also looking into opportunities within the commercial cleaning market as well. As our client base grows, so will our team, as we continue to offer great jobs to local people.

What’s the best thing about running a business in North Tyneside?

North Tyneside is a great area to run a business. The local authority is forward-thinking in supporting local businesses. They offer guidance and courses for businesses to succeed and contribute to the local economy. There are also great networking groups and it’s lovely to see other local businesses supporting each other.
