We love talking to members about what they do, why they love North Tyneside as a place to do business. We’ve been chatting to Whitley Bay Clinic
Tell us a little more about the business
We are an innovative physiotherapy and pain management clinic in Whitley Bay. We provide highly effective treatments for a wide variety of conditions and injuries. Having recruited specialists from a variety of fields, the clinic is a hub of expert practitioners providing individually tailored and evidence based treatment to the highest standards. |
Each of our physiotherapists have at least 10 years senior experience in the NHS making them specialists in their own right. From chronic pain to sports injuries and even women’s health, we have worked hard to recruit a dream team of specialist staff complimented by sports therapists, counsellors, acupuncturists and a reflexologist.
What is your motivation for doing what you do?
Our motivation in everything we do is creating excellence in care. Patient satisfaction is our pleasure and we take great pride in the level of service our patients have come to expect from our clinic. In addition to specialist treatment we also work hard to offer regular evening and weekend appointments for our patients and carry out on-site visits for our occupational health work.
What are your plans for the business?
November marks the 5th anniversary of our clinic and we have grown way beyond our expectations! We will continue to invest in our team and believe firmly in letting our patients lead the way! New to clinic this Autumn are: 1. The provision of Ostenil injections in the fight against pain and dysfunction caused by arthritis. 2. We have welcomed a new member of staff Dave Rusby who joins us from Newcastle Falcons Physiotherapy Team and brings with him a wealth of sports injury management. 3. Our specialist Women’s Health team are continuing to support women during and beyond pregnancy and are introducing Auricular acupuncture proven to combat the effects of the menopause in line with National Menopause Day (18.10.19). Longer term we will continue to provide outstanding service and look to increase our occupational health portfolio supporting employers to meet their requirements in keeping work places a safe place to be. |
How has North Tyneside Business Forum helped your business?
North Tyneside Business Forum has been a tremendous resource for us as a small business. We are primarily care providers so we welcome support with business skills. Beyond that, the Forum helps combat the sense of isolation that can come with setting up and running a small business and for that I am most grateful.
Have you worked in collaboration with any other North Tyneside businesses?
We met one of our biggest Occupational Health clients at the North Tyneside Business Awards in 2015 and this lead to us providing on-site physiotherapy at 3 factories and recruiting more staff. In addition we have completed display screen equipment (desk based) assessments for several independent businesses in our local area.
One thing that makes your business different from the rest
Our business is unique because we have a range of specialists in house. Following initial assessment, patients can be confident they will receive a diagnosis and start treatment the same day. Patients are often sign posted to our support services eg personal training, deep tissue massage, counselling or aromatherapy to compliment their care. Having had such extensive NHS experience we are confident in our abilities and are able to navigate patients through difficult times in order to achieve their goals be that competing at international sport or simply bending to put socks on after a bout of sciatica!
