Free Covid-19 resources for businesses

Free COVID-19 resources are being made available to hundreds of businesses in North Tyneside.

With retailers reopening their businesses after months of lockdown, North Tyneside Business Forum have announced a number of support initiatives to help in the transition.

The Restarting Business in North Tyneside online campaign being run by North Tyneside Business Forum and North Tyneside Council aims to provide hints and tips from businesses that have already reopened or remained open throughout the pandemic, there is also practical advice for members as well as information on methods introduced to adapt and any new measures which businesses have brought in.

Now, as part of the campaign, non-essential retailers which are opening up again can apply for free posters showing that they have completed a Covid-secure risk assessment.

One of the posters is the official government poster and the other has been specially designed by the Forum with support from the council.

Initially 600 packs will be available free of charge to any North Tyneside-based business planning to reopen. Collection or delivery will be from two town centre-based printing companies – YPD Creative in North Shields, and Request a Guest in Whitley Bay.

Karen Goldfinch, Chair of North Tyneside Business Forum said:” We are offering traditional advice and support via our social media channels on all aspects of restarting businesses.

“We felt that something more practical would be beneficial to retailers in particular. Sometimes the little things get missed out and this simple poster informs and protects the customer and reminds every retailer in the Borough that we are there to help.

“As many of our non-essential retailers start to reopen, partnership working is key. It is with the support of town centre Chambers, who have eyes on the ground, and North Tyneside Council and Public Health that we deliver a consistent and measured approach to reopening our towns and district centres together.”

Update 14/08/2020: Due to fantastic demand, poster packs are no longer available.
