North Tyneside Council’s testing site continues to be available for people who are unable to work from home. This is for businesses with under 50 employees.
Testing takes place at the Riverside Centre, North Shields, for those without symptoms. One in three people with coronavirus do not display symptoms and could unwittingly pass it on to others.
The site has been running for over a month now and a number of cases have been found, and those people are now isolating at home.
Testing takes no longer than 10 minutes and results are back within an hour – allowing anyone who tests positive to quickly self-isolate and prevent spread in the workplace and community.
“There are many people in the borough who can’t work from home and may come into contact with others on a daily basis. Taking part in this testing plays an essential role in keeping them – and the wider community – safe and in work.”
“On behalf of the North Tyneside Business Forum, I hope employers will support and encourage their staff to take part.”
Karen Goldfinch, Chair of North Tyneside Business Forum
