£23m Seafood Distribution Scheme Open

Seafood exporting businesses across the UK that have been affected by the new requirements for exporting to the EU can apply for financial support from the UK Government.

The £23 million Seafood Disruption Support Scheme, administered by the Marine Management Organisation on behalf of Defra, will cover up to £100,000 of losses per business caused by delays related to the export of fresh or live fish and shellfish to the EU between 1-31st January 2021.

Funding will be paid retrospectively to cover losses incurred to businesses with fewer than 250 employees, an annual turnover of under £36 million, and less than £18m on their balance sheet. The call for applications closes on 28 February 2021.
