We’ve been working hard with our partners in the police, trading standards and public protection to clarify some of the do’s and dont’s of Lockdown 2 for non-essential businesses in North Tyneside

Businesses forced to close in non-essential retail can operate as a click & collect service, where goods are pre-ordered and collected off the premises and also delivery service.Serve Food and Drink (but not alcohol) for take away from cafes, bars, restaurants etc without pre ordering before 10pm.Work in other people’s homes, where it is necessary for you to – for example, for nannies, cleaners or tradespeopleCAN’T
Serve alcohol as a takeaway – alcohol must be ordered via click & collect.Provide personal care services (including hairdressers, beauticians etc) in other peoples’ homesRemember we’re here to help businesses, and work with our partners in the borough, including Northumbria Police and North Tyneside Council, it is a very difficult time we’re all going through at the moment, and we’re all here to support each other.
