Doing your bit for the environment

Doing your bit for the environment

Rising energy costs are a significant issue for businesses of all sizes, operating in all sectors. The Business Energy Saving Team (BEST) can provide your business with a fully-funded energy efficiency audit, designed to help you to identify ways that you can save energy in your day to day business operations, thereby saving you money and helping to reduce your carbon-footprint. They may even be able to provide you with a grant to help cover the costs of improvements. So, you’ll reduce your running costs and be doing your ‘bit’ for the environment too.

BEST is a project, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and delivered by local Councils, which aims to reduce energy use and costs in small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland and Sunderland.

Delivery partner Narec DE (www.narecde.co.uk) will identify energy efficiency improvements and will work with your business to develop a plan to achieve these savings. Maybe there are improvements to your building that could reduce your energy usage? Or you may need to replace inefficient machinery or simply adopt new practices, that will make a real difference to the amount of energy you use…

You may also have the opportunity to apply for grant funding to help with the costs of implementing audit recommendations.
