Lockdown to end on 2 December

The announcement that the national lockdown will end on 2nd December is one we’ve all been waiting for however, please note that it has NOT been confirmed which tier North Tyneside/North East will move into, this will not be confirmed until Thursday 26 November.

What we know so far is…in any tier…
➡Shops, Personal Care, Gyms & Leisure centres can re-open.
➡Weddings and worship can take place.
➡Outdoor sports can take place
➡The rule of six applies to anyone meeting outdoors
The Tier system has been strengthened.
? Tier 1: Work from home where possible
? Tier 2: Alcohol only served in hospitality with a substantial meal
?‍? Tier 3: Indoor entertainment, hotels and hospitality to close with the exception of takeaway
In Tiers 1 & 2, the 10pm closing time will now be 10pm last orders and 11pm closing. Spectator sport and business events can now resume inside and outside with tight capacity limits and social distancing, providing more consistency with indoor performances in theatres and concert halls.
Tier allocations will be reviewed every 14 days, and the regional approach will last until March. The Prime Minister stated that more regions will fall into higher tiers than lower.

Again, we do not know for certain which tier North Tyneside/North East will fall into until Thursday, anything on social media is currently speculation. We will update when we can. We understand that sometimes the information we pass on isn’t always what some businesses want to hear and we appreciate how frustrating this can be. We do feedback our member’s concerns to the relevant channels and constantly liaise with our strategic partners.
To raise any concerns that you’d like us to raise with our partners, please use the messenger facility on our main Forum Facebook page, email us at [email protected] and we’ll feed them back to the appropriate team.
Thank you and stay safe
